Students will use the Global Explorers Journal to research and record facts about Kenya. They may also wish to complete the sentence strategies that go alongside this country study.

Supplies & Materials

• Global Explorers Journal and Kenya sentence strategy worksheets
• Pencils or pens
• Colored pencils or markers (optional)
• Books or other resources about Kenya (DK Publishing’s Countries of the World: Our World in Pictures and National Geographic Kids: Kenya are recommended)

Activity

Students will complete the Global Explorers Journal page, using books, maps, and trusted resources to research and record accurate information about the country they are studying. They may color the flag, include labeled drawings, and add small illustrations or notes to make their journal page both informative and visually appealing.

As you research, use the sentence strategies to practice writing strong sentences about the country’s geography, culture, and history, strengthening both writing and comprehension skills.
