Lesson
- Prepare Mandazi together.
- As you cook, encourage students to notice:
- How did the dough change as it rose?
- How did frying affect the texture?
- Ask: How does Mandazi compare to other types of bread or doughnuts you’ve tried? What did you think of the cardamom and coconut flavors?
Learning Extension
Language Arts: Students may wish to document the recipe using the Global Explorers cookbook page. Encourage them to write clear, numbered, step-by-step instructions in their own words, including measurements and preparation tips. After preparing the dish, add a photograph or illustration of the finished recipe and record any notes about taste, texture, or variations you tried.
